What have we become ?.

13 years ago | 4515 Views

What has come over our nation,
once the most respected, we now mop up while others stamp on our feet and use
us as carpets to cushion their lives. I arrived in the UK In March,
During the period of my arrival. I was in a lot of turmoil, spiritually and
emotionally, I have since been able to get to grips with my situations. And I
am looking at life from a different light. I will not be the same, not
any-more. They can never silence the voice within me actually they have stoked
the lion's mane in a way that. The beast within me has risen possible never to
go to sleep no more, till "kingdom". The struggle for the
emancipation of our people shall not be stifled by none. Destiny is set not by
the living, we are just instruments of the process.

As such I say “Aluta
continua" let the struggle continue. Our now is a revolution for self
worth, it’s a pity that the enemies of this revolution seem not to realise the
impact of their actions. When you have an opportunity to meet the Zimbabweans
in the UK. Maybe I am still to meet more , but with the few I have , I have
come to realise that the challenge, is greater than we anticipated .
Zimbabweans are divided, with a clear tribal demarcation that has created a
rift between the two main tribes, the Ndebele and Shona's

The Ndebele
continue to blame the shona , for the killings , of the people of
matebeleland
, in the 80's , during the most unfortunate part of our past , named the "Gukurahundi",
they continue to blame the shona led government for bringing the
country to its knees. The people of matebeleland believed the Shona led
government undermined their existence , in all areas , education , hearth ,
development and all you can mention, they say they never got equal
opportunities by just having a Ndebele surname, your chances of employment ,
entrance into university, educator training collages were reduced to almost
nothing. As a result they had to find other parts of the world where they could
get equal opportunities; as a result they found their way to SA, UK and other
parts of the world. On arriving in foreign land they had to even degrade even
more to become Illegal citizens or asylum seekers of refuges. Just in brief
they Blame it all on the shona's and for that they will not party ,
or meddle with the shona
they hate them they say.

On the other half, the shona's
claim the Ndebeles
started the fights back in the chimurenga days, they would raid their cattle,
and kill their fathers, that is why they did what they did, they claim to be
the majority, in Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe is theirs, the Ndebele
people came from South Africa with Mzilikazi and they have no share in the
leadership of Zimbabwe. It is all pathetic talk I would say , Having been
fortunate to get the interest to read the history of who I am as early as at
the age of 20. I feel it is lack of information that breeds this hate rage. It
was the divide and rule principle that was applied in a bid to colonise Africa.
It has germinated to a tree that now produces the fruits of hate rage we see in
our country.

I happen to have traced the
origins of the crown of the great Zimbabwe right up to where it has to sit
today. Having been born In Bulawayo, By a Sibanda mother (Nguni origin) from a
strong Ndebele
background. by a Maphosa
father , whose origins take me to Swaziland , entering Zimbabwe , right into the
Kingdom royal clan of the Zvimuto in Masvingo .
I happen to be Rozvi.
Now the question I would like to ask my fellow brothers and sister, is who am I?
Am I shona,
or am I Ndebele.

There are many like me who happen
to be on both sides of this rift, as such we are better positioned to provide
the bridging personnel resource for this rift in Zimbabwe. Just forget the
political turmoil, economic meltdown in Zimbabwe and focus on creating a bridge
for the people of Zimbabwe from there all will follow. Look at what the MDC leader
did, said one of the boys from Bulawayo I met yesterday at the asylum centre in
Leeds, .this is a typical shona behaviour, what this MDC guy
did, he used the people of Matebeleland to find his way into the
office of the prime-minister, when the people of matebeleland
supported him as a result of their frustration they forget he was shona they
just wanted Peace in Zimbabwe, what does he go on to do, he dumps all the Ndebele leaders.
At the last minute, he take a women to represent a nation as proud as the Ndebele in
the leadership, he puts all the shona guys in the front to continue the shonanization
legacy. That seemed to have not gone well with the Ndebele people.
This other young man from Harare at the centre in Leeds told me that they will
use their majority to keep the Ndebele out of power, coz they
fear the Ndebele
will seek revenge as soon as they get into power. And after all the Ndebele
people have no experience of leadership. so we cannot trust Ndebele
leaders to take the country anyway, I felt this was misplaced thinking

I had not looked at the GNU
formation from that angle, but now that I have spoken to some of the youths in
the UK from Matebeland
it begins to make sense why the youths in South Africa are beginning to shun the MDC. But for me
politics "stinks”. I would like to wake up in any political situation,
though it affect all in the same way, If we can fix the rift in Zimbabwe, then
we can create a clear political platform for all. I wish to have an opportunity
to travel across the world and engage with Zimbabwean youths, on the issue of Ndebele
& Shona’s. We
need the Government of Her Majesty to avail us a platform, and media space
where we can discuss our issues openly, so we may become one. If we do not have
that platform, The asylum seekers centres will continue to be dominated by Zimbabweans,
displaced from this reason or the other, and as long as the Home office keeps
the youths of Zimbabwe in Limbo, no allowed to work and not able to deport them
they will continue being a challenge they have to deal with, consuming
resources unnecessarily. The Zimbabweans I know are enterprising and very creative,
possible the most dynamic creating on this planet if I may say. They will be
found in crime, as any person who has no exit will always try creating a way out.

The home office must understand
the need to allow and avail opportunities for the Zimbabwean people to live and
work in the country. In the initial proposals for The Global Zimbabwean
Diaspora Power, I mentioned that a need to legalize the stay for Zimbabweans in
the Diaspora is paramount to all interventions that can see Zimbabwean
challenges being solved. We need to put time frame to our visions, as indicated
previously that a 5 year program working with the Diaspora will be meaning full.
In getting to this decision , the home office in the UK must be mind full of
the fact that as we will be able to repatriated equipped and empowered
Zimbabwean youths to Zimbabwe in the long run , say 3 years from commencement
date of projects , some Zimbabweans will remain forever in the Diaspora host
countries. Will continue to communicate my feelings and thoughts, This is a revolution,
I said it was not in the beginning , but I have come to realise it actually is
a revolution , for self worth of our people.

zimbabweandiaspora can i just say you are not a ndebele there was a special reason for who ever spearheaded your ancestral journey to the then royal zvimuto kingdom. I got belieave that people new what they were doing clan selection was not easy but one had to whorship that particular clan. It is like belieaving in Zanupf' land reform programme of the minority and forgetting basic peoples requirements. You have already mentioned some examples in your blog, but never the less do not worry about tribal differences it is all about time. All human beings have atribe and belong to aparticula clan. The situation in Zimbabwe requires a person who position him/herself as a peoples representative not a leader. It is like appointing Generals and colonels within the police force that is suicidal because the police become a second army. In theory we want retatives chosen by people. At the moment Zanupf did appoint themselves this is why they do not want to leave office. There is nothing like leadership experience When Robert Mugabe became Prime Minister in 1980 he had no previous exut the nation trusted him. It is all about how and what to deliver, people are sick and tired of all this bickering done by Zanupf blaming the west about sunctions. Zimbabwe is a an independent country, if the west do not want with their resources why is Zanupf government not looking somewhere else???? The reason for the country to colapse is because the present government is failing to deliver.
